Now you’ve convinced yourself that this is too hard, or worse yet, that you really don’t want or need to make the change because things are fine how they are, how they’ve always been. Now you are just ready to throw in the towel and give up. ![]() But one day turns into two, and to turn into a week, and a week turns into a month and you look up and you aren’t doing those little things that you used to do to reach your goals anymore. You forget your healthy lunch so you find yourself in the drive thru ordering something quick and easy (but loaded with calories) and you tell yourself that it is ok because it’s only one day. You threw out the bad food and bought healthy and nutritious foods, your created a budget so that you could manage your money. You started writing in your journal and say your affirmations. You were creating the space and time to write down your goal list or dream sheet. That initial motivation that you had when you decided that you were going to conquer your goal had you pumped and on fire for that first week or so. We start to justify why we are accepting a situation or a life that is less than what we really want or what we dream of having. We settle and then we make excuses or lie to ourselves about WHY we’ve settle. We start to surrender what we want for what we currently have. We often get overwhelmed with everything that it takes to complete our goals so we start to give up a little bit each day. ” One bite at a time.” This is that same concept. It can be doing five sit ups each day or saving your change each day in a jar because it is eventually going towards your larger goal of a vacation fund. These things can be as simple as making a phone call, or researching something on the internet that pertains to your goal.
